Bars in Ibiza

The White Isle is renowned for its 100 miles of coastline with some stunning beaches and of course for its vibrant nightlife, but with the Spanish island having so many bars, how do you know where to go. Ibiza luxury villas has taken the hassle out of deciding where to go, as we have collated a where to guide of all the best Ibiza bars.

Out of Town

This Ibiza institution is around 5.6KM on the road from Ibiza Town to San José, and features an upmarket lounge bar and a well-rated restaurant set in a traditional Ibicencan farmhouse. It attracts a wealthy, fashionable crowd, drawn to the lounge garden with Bedouin tent, and resident DJ’s as well as the superb food. If you want to dine at KM5, be sure to book, as it’s generally busy. The clientele here are slightly older and a lot more sophisticated than those hanging around the Playa d’en Bossa, but they still know how to party.

Bambuddha is situated on the road between San Joan and Ibiza Town and combines an upmarket Thai restaurant with a very cool cocktail bar set in sumptuous temple décor. Try one of their famous cocktails such as their Espresso Martini or the BJ, which is a blend of amaretto, cinnamon and lime. It’s not a place to pop in for a quick drink, and its not cheap, but a night at Bambuddha should be part of your Ibiza itinerary.

Hidden Bar

This beautiful yet quirky bar can be reached by heading along the mountain road after Benirras and San Juan until you hit pretty Cala Vincente. Hidden Bar is down a pathway to a secret garden with a giant chess set, crazy golf and lots of places to hide out with a drink. It’s famous for its cocktails made by the celebrated mixologist Chris Edwards, which you can drink along with a cupcake or a full course dinner. And if you fancy a dip after, there is a beach just down the road.

San Antonio

Café del Mar

This bar in San Antonio has been going since 1980, and is an Ibiza institution where people gather to watch the sunset on the shores of Caló des Moro while sipping a cocktail and listening to the DJ play relaxing chill out tunes. There are other sunset bars, but Café del Mar is the original.

If you are looking for somewhere with a relaxed hippy vibe, then this beachside bar gives fantastic views of the sunset from the comfort of a floor cushion.

Ibiza Town

La Bodega

This funky tapas bar is set in a converted stable and storehouse and is decorated in a mix of traditional Ibicencan décor with bright coloured art and furniture from around the world. They have an eclectic cocktail menu to go with their delicious tapas menu.

The Ninth

This rooftop bar on the ninth floor of the Hard Rock Hotel offers scenic 360º views over the Med and the Ses Salines National Park as well as Ibiza’s old town Dalt Villa. The sleek, clean lines of the bar will make you feel as though you are sipping champagne in a luxury yacht.
